Scott Young
Scott Young, MD, serves as the Senior Medical Director, Clinical Quality and Safety for the Permanente Federation. In addition, he is the Executive Director of Kaiser Permanente’s Care Management Institute and serves as the co-lead for KP’s National Incident Command Center. His work includes commissioning the discovery, development and spread of programs and best practices focused on care delivery, safety, education and member experience.
He is the former director for Health IT at the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. Dr. Young’s policy experience also includes service as a Robert Wood Johnson health policy fellow in the office of U.S. Sen. Jeff Bingaman of New Mexico. He received his medical degree from the University of Oklahoma. Dr. Young is board certified in family medicine and a fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians.
