Carol Cain
Executive Director, Clinical Information Services, The Permanente Federation
Carol Cain, PhD is the executive director of the Center for Clinical Information Services at Kaiser Permanente’s Care Management Institute. Based in KP’s national offices, she oversees KP’s National Guidelines, Clinical Library, Clinical Education, Quality Informatics, Responsible AI Use, and the Garfield Memorial Research Fund – a portfolio that aspires to help KP fulfill the promise of a learning healthcare system. She previously managed the health IT portfolio at the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ). A clinical informaticist by training, she has also served as faculty in the Stanford Biomedical Informatics program.
