Natalie Leland
Natalie E. Leland, PhD, OTR/L, BCG, FAOTA, FGSA is a professor in the Department of Occupational Therapy at the University of Pittsburgh with more than twenty-five years of experience as an occupational therapist, board certified in gerontology. Her research program reflects the integration of her post-acute and long-term care clinical experience with her research training in gerontology, health services research, and implementation science. Dr. Leland’s research examines emerging community-prioritized implementation, health services, and health policy questions to advocate for the care needs of, improve quality of care for, and optimize outcomes for persons with lived experience. She has expertise in mixed methods research, leveraging health system and administrative data with qualitative perspectives of the community. Her work has been supported by organizations such as the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute, and the National Institutes of Health.
